Selkirk Aboriginal Redemption Centre Church

209 Dufferin Ave, Selkirk, MB

Senior Pastor Ray Settee

I was born at Matheson Island where I spent the first 20 years of my life fishing with my Dad.  My family moved into Selkirk when I got a job with the government where I was employed for 35 years as the manager of the Coast Guard in Manitoba.  During this period I often ministered in the northern communities.

After retirement my wife and I established the Selkirk Aboriginal Redemption Centre Church geared toward the Aboriginal people in the area.  We have now been in operation for more than 18 years.  We have been blessed.

As Senior Pastor I would like to invite you to come to our services and listen to our country gospel band and message from God's Word.

Associate Minister Stirling Ranville

I was born in Eddystone, MB, the oldest boy in a very musical family of 12 children.  After high school, all the young men were going to CPR or CNR Railroad to work.  So, I went!  After three months I failed to pass the medical because of colour blindness, so I went and joined the Canadian Forces Army.  I served three years in the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals.  It was there that I started to become an alcoholic.

I worked in various management positions in the Aboriginal Community and between these times I learned a trade and became a journeyman bricklayer.  All through my working years I was a full or part time musician becoming more of an alcoholic along the way.  I received salvation though Messiah Jesus in 1979 but then alcohol took me to the point of near death experience in 1997.  It was there that Jesus rescued me, delivered me, and filled me with the Holy Spirit.

Yvette married me in 2001 and we searched for a home church for five years.  We came to this church in 2002, sitting three rows from the back, and we both knew we were home at last.  I accepted ordination in 2006 and began working mostly in music and worship.

My first priority in Ministry is to point people to Jesus and focus on His Word - the Bible!

Associate Minister Elsie Settee

I was born and raised at Grand Rapids, MB where I worked for a period of time for Indian Affairs as an accountant.  I moved to Selkirk and got a job working as a cook at Tudor Personal Care Home and Selkirk General Hospital from where I retired.

My husband and I started the Selkirk Aboriginal Redemption Centre Church.  There I was ordained and took on the responsibilities of Associate Pastor, treasurer, occasionally ministering the Word of God, and Sunday School Superintendent.

My prayer for you:

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:

The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee:

The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
